We are partnered on a Director of Tax Strategy and Operations hire to lead and optimize their corporate and shareholder tax planning, compliance, and execution.
Role Highlights
- Lead corporate and shareholder tax strategy across multiple business sectors.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws while identifying tax efficiencies.
- Collaborate with financial leadership to optimize tax planning and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all tax matters, including compliance, planning, and advisory functions for corporate entities and shareholders.
- Review and approve federal and state tax filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies across diverse business sectors.
- Conduct in-depth research on tax regulations, Nexus rules, and emerging legislative changes.
- Collaborate with financial teams to structure tax plans that minimize liabilities.
- Provide guidance on tax strategies, compliance obligations, and best practices.
- Liaise with external tax professionals, including CPAs and auditors.
- Maintain comprehensive tax documentation and ensure timely filings.
Additional Responsibilities
- Manage tax compliance for federal, state, and local taxes, including payroll, excise, and sales/use tax.
- Lead special tax projects, such as research on potential acquisitions or tax restructuring.
- Drive process improvements and develop innovative tax strategies.
- Participate in business development and strategic initiatives within the company.
